Transaction Management - A Call for Volunteers

Transaction Management
At one time or another, some of you may have actually wondered how we came up with the name “CloseTrak”. Actually, the name was conceived by a web developer back in 2000. When I left my old closing practice in early 2000, I wanted to build a website that would improve the real estate process by efficiently sharing information about a transaction. Duplication of effort is a huge waste of time in any scenario but residential real estate takes it to an extreme level. When I described the problem to the web developer he succinctly deduced that what we were trying to do is track closings online. What took me 15 minutes to explain, he described in 3 words. And – CloseTrack.com was taken, giving birth to CloseTrak.com.

Tracking closings was eventually termed online transaction management. Many companies competed in this space but only a few survived the dot com bust (the original closetrak.com did not), the remaining were bought by title insurance companies and became bloated software behemoths that carried a significant training and support burden. So instead of becoming transaction management system developers – we became very critical transaction management system users. Our goal has been to find an easy to use, simple to learn system that just does a half dozen things very well. Not a hundred features that work just ok. So we’ve been looking for the “perfect” transaction management platform for years – it’s been a long, frustrating journey but we think we have found it! We’re testing internally still but we need a few brave souls to go live with a few transactions and give us some honest, hardcore feedback. Please email me or Jessica (Jessica (at) closetrak dot com) to participate. This will be a collaborative process and we need agents that are willing to engage in a dialogue with us on how we can help them serve their customers better while allowing them to manage their business more efficiently – a win win.
